Gaza announced today that their new album No Absolutes In Human Suffering will be released July 31 via Blackmarket Activities. “Mostly Hair And Bones Now” is the first song off the album and is available for streaming on Brooklyn Vegan. Lyrics available below:

I pulled a dead horse out from under a tarp in my back yard piece by piece.
Once proud, once full of strength… She was gold.
Mostly hair and bones now.
I dragged a leg around the yard for hours wearing a path.
I left it there in the sun, abandoned like a child’s bicycle at the call of a mother.
Mostly hair and bones now.

CHILDISH GAMBINO Posts Rant, New Track

Perhaps in an effort to generate more buzz about the highly-anticipated release of his new mixtape, Childish Gambino a.k.a. Donald Glover has been involved in some vague and cryptic communications lately. First came the release of his song “Eat Your Vegetables” on April 2. A few weeks later, he performed a secret show that was streamed on Youtube. A couple weeks after that, his unfinished track “Fuck Your Blog” was leaked on the internet. On May 14, Funkmaster Flex posted a new Childish Gambino song “Unnecessary” on his website.

Then, on May 16, Glover posted a tirade on his Twitter that appears to be in response to some criticism he’s received, but the exact exchange isn’t completely clear. To further complicate things, he ended his rant with a link to his blog which is currently occupied by the above image and a message from hip-hop blogger Big Ghost, as well as a link to his new song “We Ain’t Them.” Click below for the full rant.

Video Podcast: LA DISPUTE

Have La Dispute earned a new reputation for being “career killers”? Singer Jordan Dreyer joked that he would gladly embrace the perception as a “bad ass,” but the fact that three well-established bands (Alexisonfire, Thrice, and Thursday) all broke up shortly after working with the Grand Rapids-based five-piece is pure coincidence. The truth is that La Dispute are deeply respected and appreciated by their peers, and the laughter and joyful banter in the background of our recent podcast with them is further evidence to that fact.

AGNOSTIC FRONT To Re-Release “Live At CBGB” LP

In conjunction with their 30th anniversary, seminal hardcore act Agnostic Front will re-release their classic album Live At CBGB on July 17 via Bridge Nine Records. The band also plan to perform the entire album live at a string of shows in June and July of this year. Regarding the announcements, frontman Roger Miret said:

“With this year being our 30 year anniversary as a band with myself singing I wanted to play a special show here and there so I came up with the idea of playing our classic Live At CBGB set. This was the set front to back from our legendary live recording released in 1989. That was a magical time for the band and Hardcore was thriving at it’s best in 1988 when it was recorded. As an honorable family member with the Bridge Nine crew, I knew that the label should be home to this special re-release as much as CBGB was home to Agnostic Front. We are making this re-release very special for the record collector in a red, white and blue color and our timeless original cover embossed to add that punch it held back in 1989 as intense today in 2012! Along with this special re-release we are doing a handful of special shows in the U.S. to coordinate with the release. This will be a great release team effort with Agnostic Front and Bridge Nine… here it is – the glory days of 1988 New York City Hardcore as relevant today, tomorrow and forever!”
